Serious attacks by hand and arm numbness and loss of muscle control.?
Recently I've been having these attacks rapid onset of hand arm and leg numbness (more pins and needles) with the loss of muscle control and weakness. These attacks seem to occur after the event and last until an hour. I had a L5/S1 discectomy about six months ago and still have a lot of nerve pain in my legs and feet. In severe cases, spasms and my fingers closed again useless. I was sure my arm and hand problems was due to cervical disc problems I am having nerve pain radiating from the neck into my arms. An MRI scan was done only to discover that negative for any hernia.
It is obvious that you are under the care of a physician. Stay in touch with him. With his injury, this type of situation can not be attributed to herniation. He should keep looking until you find what is wrong. If not … I have two words for you-second opinion.
