One of them is often very difficult to diagnose is often overlooked, and therefore labeled as one of the secret or hidden causes. That secret hidden cause or source of neck pain or lower back pain is known as the joint facet syndrome or facet pain. The pain of facet joint or facet syndrome, is a chronic pain syndrome or condition directly related to joint pain.
What is a facet joint and what is the joint?
A facet joint posterior vertebral joint is that the interfaces of two adjacent upper and lower vertebrae. Also known as an intervertebral joint, facet joint provides for the movement known as "articulation" in defined ranges of motion. The articulation of a facet joint includes lean forward: flexion, bending backwards: the extension, and torsion: cervical or thoracolumbar rotation. The joint is stretched and unloaded during flexion and loaded in compression or extension. The facet joints are also limiting joint range to prevent damage to the discs of the spine range of motion excessive movement.
What is a synovial joint?
The facet joints are synovial joints, the joint more common in the human body. A synovial joint is characterized by a joint capsule, joint capsule synovial fluid lubricating fluid inside the joint and cartilage on the outside of the joint between the top and bottom of the adjacent surfaces of each vertebra to allow a smooth gliding motion.
What is facet arthritis?
Facet arthritis is an inflammation of facet arthropathy degenerative of the facet joints of arthritis can be one of the syndromes of facet joint pain. Both chronic pain conditions can be caused by wear, degeneration of the cartilage surfaces, associated joint capsule or spinal discs, injuries or trauma, incorrect posture, leaning forward too the head, or abnormal curvature of the spine, such as excessive lordosis arch the lower back.
Factors Affecting Joint Movement
The facet joint must be able to move freely without restriction. The facet joint pain is often experienced when the joint is "stuck" or "fixed" in the open or closed position or in the open or partially closed position. The facet joint dysfunction can cause pain the muscles that surround the problem that increase their tone very tight in order to "splint" or support the problem. By contrast, the musculature around the joint may have a problem that is causing the joint to be stuck open or closed, resulting in facet joint pain.
What are some causes of the facet joint pain?
Some causes of facet joint pain are: wear, degeneration cartilage surfaces, joint capsule or associated vertebral discs, injury or trauma, poor posture, posture over the head forward, forward pelvic rotation, the abnormal curvature of the spine, arch-excessive lordosis in the lumbar, scoliosis-lateral lumbar spine curvature.
What are the symptoms of lower back side?
Lower back symptoms include facet joint pain lower back pain or sensitivity, increased pain when bending or twisting side or arch the lower back or torso, deep dull ache that moves to the buttocks or back of the thighs, and / or stiffness or difficulty with certain movements, like standing up straight or rising from a chair. The initial appearance of pain may be related to injury in vertebral rotation or a spinal injury involving hyperextension of the spine.
What symptoms are neck-cervical facet syndrome?
The facet joint neck pain symptoms include neck pain, headaches, shoulder pain, and / or difficulty of lateral flexion or rotation of the head. Make sure that the facet joint pain assessment clearly indicates the pain scale of related problems. Find out if there is a history of whiplash or other neck injury.
Is The facet joint move freely, or restriction of movement and if so, how?
That's one of the most important questions to be answered. There is a special test test known as the spring that you can check the basic joint movement.
What exercises will help relieve my joint pain facet?
If bends lower back – the lumbar lordosis and hip flexors and hypertonic hypertonic lower back muscles causing compression of the lumbar joints, stretching and strengthening exercises to reduce joint compression and help prevent joint fixation will to reverse the postural distortion that has occurred. If the cervix (neck) is affected by head posture too forward and hypertonic musculature neck, is strengthening and stretching exercises for posture correction and reduction of hypertonicity as well. Hi,Is it normal to have terrible headaches during early pregnancy ? I am finally pregnant after trying for over 10 years. I am in my early 30s and this is a new experience for me. I took 8 different pregnancy test, and they were all positive. I have not gone to the doctor yet, but I have an appointment for Monday morning. Every thing is the same except for I have extreme headaches everyday. I have taken so many different kinds of headache medications, but nothing works. Is it normal to have headaches during early pregnancy, or is it something besides pregnancy that is making me have these headaches?
